Sean Penn Being Called A Liar By El Chapo's Legal Team;

Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman who escaped from a maximum secured prison in 2015 when the most wanted drug lord and murderer dug a hole through the floor of his cell's shower floor which was just above a contruction tunnel in which guzman used as an escape route to freedom.

According to sources this was not the first time the drug lord had evaded conviction and has escaped from a maximum security prison. Guzmán who was captured in 1993 in Guatemala, extradited and sentenced to 20 years in prison in Mexico for murder and drug trafficking. After bribing prison guards, he was able to escape from a federal maximum-security prison in 2001. He was wanted by the governments of Mexico and the United States, and by INTERPOL. The U.S. offered a US$5 million reward for information leading to his capture, and the Mexican government offered a reward of 60 million pesos (approximately US$3.8 million) for information on Guzmán.

Guzmán was arrested by Mexican authorities in Mexico on 22 February 2014. He was found inside his fourth-floor condominium in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and was captured without any gunshots being fired. Guzmán escaped from prison again on 11 July 2015 by exiting through a tunnel that led to a nearby construction site.

On 8 January 2016 mexican marines closed in on "El Chapo's" hideout and this time Guzman didn't easily surrender to mexican authorities El Chapo decided this time he wouldn't go down without a fight that is when mexican marines was involved in an intensive shoot out with the wanted drug trafficker however after the intensive shootout mexican marines was able to swoop in without any casualties or injuries to apprehend "El Chapo" and transport him back to the same federal maximum security prison in which he dug his escape back on 11 July 2015.

However the United States is currently fighting to have El Chapo Guzman extradited to the United States where he will be imprisoned and stand trial for his involvement in drug trafficking, murder along with numerous of other federal charges.

According to reports made to TMZ By Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's attorney Sean Penn lied about his interview with El Chapo, and he might even be called to the stand in the drug lord's trial ... so says one of Chapo's lawyers.

Juan Pablo Badillo is calling BS on Penn's Rolling Stone article, in which he says Chapo boasted he was the world's premiere drug trafficker. Badillo called it "a lie, absurd speculation.

TMZ reporters caught "Penn, who grabbed a smoke outside Giorgio Baldi Thursday night, was mum on the claim, but he did sit down with Charlie Rose and opened up about the interview, calling it a failure because it put the spotlight on him, not the world's drug problem. The full interview will air Sunday on "60 Minutes.
