(U.S. Troops Invade Kuwait and Prepare To Commence Bombing Operations Against Iraqi Forces)

On July 15, 1990 Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein accused Kuwait of stealing oil from the Rumaylah, Iraq's oil field near the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border and warns of military action however it was not until July 22, 1990 when Iraq deploys their troops into the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border in order to build a massive military presence.

The Iraqi dictator than came to a conclusion on August 2, 1990 to deploy nearly 100,000 Iraqi troops into Kuwait, The Iraqian troops was ordered by the dictator to invade Kuwait which lead to initiating the Gulf War, on the same day that Iraqi troops was ordered to invade Kuwait The U.N. Security Council passed Resolution 661 imposing a trade embargo on Iraq which was a victory with a 13-0 vote, with Cuba and Yemen abstaining.

The United States decided to launch Operation Desert Shield on August 7, 1990 which the first U.S. troops arrived in Saudi Arabia to shield and defend our allies; Saddam Hussein later proclaimed the annexation of Kuwait.

Naval blockade of Iraq begins and Iraq declared Kuwait as its 19th province and renames Kuwait City as al-Kadhima. After Iraq began and declared Kuwait as their province the United Kingdom and France announced their deployment of troops to Saudi Arabia. It was not until November 29, 1990 when The U.N. Security Council passed Resolution 678 setting a deadline for Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait before January 15, 1991, or face military action.

Iraq failed to comply with The U.N Security Councils demands which led to the United States decision to further invade Kuwait in order to push back Iraqi troops; On January 15, 1991 Former U.S President George H. Bush addresses our nation with a televised broadcast from The White Houses Oval Office stating the United States will be invading kuwait in order to push back Iraqi troops and take back over the province of Kuwait along with Kuwaiti oil fields.

U.S President George H. Bush than annouced that U.S. General Norman Schwarzkopf would be assigned to lead his troops during Operation Desert Storm; Gen. Schwarzkopf lead the war to a victory when a cease-fire was declared and iraqi forces surrendered to U.S special forces on February 28, 1991; this specific operation was designed to drive Iraqi forces out of Kuwait and regain control back over Kuwaiti oil fields.

Weeks thereafter Operation Desert Storm ended the war was recognized as a decisive victory for the coalition, Kuwait and Iraq suffered enormous damage, and Saddam Hussein was not forced from power however Kuwait province was able to fully regain control back over their oil fields and the City of Kuwait; The Bush Administration ordered U.S Troops to remain overseas to further ensure all security measures was fully enacted and Iraqi forces would not further attempt another invasion; After Kuwait had been liberated from Iraqi occupation and the war had ended Former U.S. President George H. Bush than decided in March, 1991 to start bringing troops back home to celebrate yet another victory.
