As the winter storm dumped an entire winter’s month of snow on the entire east coast just in one storm New Jersey residence who reside in or near the Jersey Shores endured winds that gusted over 45 mph and high water tides that succumbed the streets of their towns.

Property owners who either own homes or businesses around the area endured significant amounts of property damage which either included water damage, roofs blowing off or caving in to residences losing their personal property such as their vehicles. On Saturday afternoon New Jersey Governor Chris Christie held a second press conference since his return from the presidential campaign trail in New Hampshire on Friday Evening;

During The Governor of New Jersey’s Saturday press conference the governor stated. “Well this is certainly not Superstorm Sandy and the streets were flooded this morning at 8 a.m. Point Pleasant Beach same thing, there is significant tide coming in and again, these are folks who are fighting against it and here's the result of it: not just the Point Pleasant Beach but if you look at Ortley Beach which is part of that project which has been stopped because of the objections of 17 people in Point Pleasant Beach and about 30 people in Bayhead, Ortley Beach is being pounded.” Said, Gov. Chris Christie

The governor who was in office when superstorm sandy crashed down on the Jersey Shores causing over $1 million dollars in property damage and succumbing lives during the storm knows too well how the weather can cause problems and cost families their entire lifesavings to fix or repair such damages.

When Sixth Gate spoke with a few lifelong residence and business owners they were very upset there was not a preventative in place so that the towns would not be succumbed by yet another storm like superstorm sandy had did when it ripped through their streets, some of the residence that are located i

n or near the storm stricken towns either have not received funding or received partial funding in which was granted by the United State Federal Government after superstorm sandy struck down on the Jersey Shores.

The funding in which was authorized to the state of New Jersey was supposed to be utilized to aide residence and business owners with recovery operations as well as have a dune built which would help fight storms that are sever as superstorm sandy from barreling down on the small towns of the Jersey Shores.

New Jersey Governor ended his Saturday afternoon press conference by saying “We really need to get moving on these dunes projects it's 3 years post Sandy, this should not be held up by what I really believe are a few very selfish homeowners who do not want to give into the idea that we have to build these dunes by using the fake excuse that somehow I want to build a boardwalk or a Ferris wheel or a hot dog stand or public bathrooms on the strip of land that we're taking.

The governor in a very firm and serious tone proceeded to state that “It's a ridiculous idea, put forward by some selfish folks and their selfish lawyers who are just looking to make money off this.”

The New Jersey Governor who is running for 2016 Presidential elections ended his Saturday afternoon press conference by saying

“I am going down there to look at this myself today. Not to Margate but to the Point Pleasant area as well as to see exactly what we need to do in order to be able to speak to people in the public much more about this and to provide information to the court when this is ultimately litigated.

The residence and business owners strongly feel the governor should have had a preventive solution in place prior to future storms and in lues of post “Superstorm Sandy”
